Destiny Has Followed You Through Out Your Life

Destiny

How did I get here? Somebody pushed me. Somebody must have set me off in this direction and clusters of other hands must have touched themselves to the controls at various times, for I would not have picked this way at all. -Joseph Heller-

I have been asked many times, why I help people. I used to reply, “I like to help people.” While that is true. I do like to help individuals go after what they want.

In recent years, however, I have come to realize I help others so they don’t miss out on their destinies as I felt I had missed out on mine.

You see, growing up I had many dreams and desires, but felt I would not realize them because of my environment and negatives I continued to hear as to why it wouldn’t happen for me.

Once I was out of the area I grew up in, things started to change. I had the opportunity to realize several of my dreams. Not on a great level, but in a way, that was satisfactory for me.

Despite having experienced those dreams, the two I really wanted continued to stay out of my reach. My desire to write and speak before a large audience. My fear and insecurities wouldn’t let me even try to go after them.

I was pulled in many directions and went along because it was the easy thing to do. I don’t have regrets. I learned many things and experienced some things I might not have, had I not gone along.

Don’t think I was pulled into doing anything wrong, because I was not. I had an angel, who sat on my shoulder and would yell at me when it looked like I was going in the wrong direction.

I am a firm believer that destiny will not be denied. Everything I experienced, everything that happened in my life, even the self-defeating thoughts I had, were all a part of shaping me into the individual I am today. It was necessary for me to be hammered and molded into who I am, so I could help others avoid some of the pitfalls I went through and for those who do go through similar situations to know it can still work out for them.

Today, I am living my dreams, I have had two stories published, I written some poetry, and I stand before groups giving speeches, doing workshops, and help others find their destiny.

Whatever your dream/destiny, it is waiting on you to claim it. Don’t be afraid. Reach out for the gold ring and go along for the ride. You’ll love what you find at the end of your journey. Destiny will not be denied.

Until next time, take care.  lw
