Be there for others, but never leave yourself behind. -Dodinsky-
A hard lesson to learn, but true. I have learned from personal experience, what it is like to always be there for others. I don’t mind helping others and supporting them in their time of need. The trouble is, it often came at the expense of leaving myself behind. Deciding I could wait until later. Somehow, later never came.
The hardest thing I have had to learn is, it is ok to say no at times and not feel guilty. Then resentment and bitterness doesn’t set in and damage the relationship. We all have the right to be there for ourselves.
The people in our lives are important and we always want to support them, but remember, you need support too. Take care of yourself and remind others you need them to be there for you. It’s a win/win situation.
Until next time, take care. lw
