A New Home and Adventure

March 15, 2017

One of the members of my Skillbuilders Toastmaster’s club is leaving us to move to San Diego. Susan will be missed greatly. She is new to Toastmasters. We only knew her for a few months, but what an amazing few months.

In those short months, she made her presence known. When she walked into the room, it was as if she brought the sunshine in with her. She would always walk in fun of energy and enthusiasm.

She not only made the rounds to speak to everyone in attendance, she asked questions and you knew she listened and was sincere. Her excitement for Toastmasters, brought new life into our club and we felt her absence when she had to miss a meeting.

It takes a special caring person, who can cause you to feel as if you truly mattered to her and whatever was going wrong in your life, she felted it as well and not in a soapy way, but with love and understanding for what you may be experiencing.

I personally, feel privilege to have known her and count her as a friend. Susan, our loss is some club in San Diego’s gain. I know whichever club you choose to join will feel the same as we do at having you as a member.

I pray for you and your family and wish you all the joy and happiness you can hold in your new home. Skillbuilders will miss you, but not as much as I will. It was always great to walk into a room and see that great smile of joy and happiness on your face.

It isn’t often someone comes into your life and makes such a big difference. I have enjoyed the time she has been a member of our club and will miss her greatly. The sun will set a little for us, but rise a little higher for San Diego because of you. I wish you all the best in your new life because it will be filled with new adventures and challenges. Challenges I know you are capable of meeting.

Remember, we are only a phone call away, so don’t be a stranger.

Until the next time we meet, take care.  lw
