The first step to success is to commit yourself to whatever project you have on your mind. It is strange how it works, but when you make the commitment and take that first steps, doors begin to open and suddenly possibility become more of a reality.
I heard something Les Brown said and I am paraphrasing it here, “I don’t won’t to die having lived an unfinished life.”
I thought about what he said and realized I felt the same. I have a bucket full of things I plan to do before I am called home. To do this, I can’t sit around dreaming or hoping it happens. So I have made the commitment to myself, I will see my dreams become my reality.
What about you? Are you holding onto your dreams, hoping they become your reality? They can, but you are going to have to commit to working on them. Once you have committed to your dream, doors will begin to open. Be ready to walk through and accept what is being offered if what is being offered will help you and not hurt you or anyone else.
Beware of the dream stealers. Surround yourself with people who are doing what you want to do and learn from them. As T.D. Jakes once said, tell them when you have learned as much as they know, they’re fired.
That should keep them always working on being one step ahead of you and the certainty you will always have something new to learn.
So, commit to yourself and one day I will be reading about you and your accomplishments.
Until next time, take care. lw
